The Talisman Wool Cape is a statement piece born from a dialogue between myth, power, and modern femininity.
The front features Wendy Morrison’s iconic Talisman Dragon, hand-embroidered in vivid, sculptural detail. The dragon coils symmetrically across the cape, symbolising protection, vitality, and power — a recurring talisman within Wendy’s artistic universe.
Turning to the back reveals a contrasting yet complementary narrative. Designed by Skylence, the embroidery draws inspiration from Wu Zetian, the first and only female emperor in Chinese history. The motif “Ri Yue Ling Kong” (日月凌空) — the sun and moon rising together — represents supreme authority, balance, and a woman standing at the very centre of power. Flowing clouds connect celestial elements, echoing ancient Chinese cosmology while remaining distinctly contemporary.
Crafted in wool tweed with a softly structured silhouette, the cape drapes effortlessly over the shoulders, allowing the embroidery to move and breathe with the body. The open-front design offers versatility — equally striking worn over eveningwear or layered for modern day dressing.
