SKYLENCE is a London based, contemporary womenswear brand that combines the clean lines of modern European design with traditional Chinese cultural and historical details, producing beautiful pieces for modern, cosmopolitan and professional woman. We like to think of it as ‘Cultured Attire’.
Our designs adopt a simple, elegant and sophisticated silhouette synonymous with timeless Western style. These are then adorned with intricate detailing; from embroidery, woven patterns and trims all inspired by traditional Chinese art and culture. Rich colours and print patterns taken from China’s heritage enrich each garment. We design to tell a story, empower women in their everyday lives and deliver an immaculate, premium experience.
Modern femininity is at the heart of what we do as a company with an inherent message of faith, hope and love. The SKYLENCE woman is vibrant, distinctive, affirmative and creative. Through our clothing we encourage this woman to use her power, vision and strength to create good in the world and to look chic whilst doing so.HISTORY
The name SKYLENCE is a play on words that takes the English translation of Chinese characters ‘Tian’(天) ‘Mo’ (默), and humorously combines the translation of the two words ‘Sky’ and ‘Silence’. Skylence explains, “I like the message it conveys. Even though the sky and heavens are vast and magnificent they don’t need to brag about it! I believe we can aspire to great things but at the same time remain modest and above all kind - this stems from my strong beliefs founded in the Christian faith.”
Whilst all designs and the company itself originate out of London, all garments are meticulously made by SKYLENCE’s team of experienced tailors in Shanghai. Skylence says “We are proud to promote ‘MADE IN SHANGHAI’, as we know our tailoring and craftsmanship are impeccable and blends the old and new in the creation of classic, timeless yet contemporary garments that are steeped in tradition and history.”
SKYLENCE is supported by an internationally expanding network in London, Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong.
