Ascot Edit
The Ascot Season is upon us. So we thought we would take this chance to look at some of the traditional dos and don’ts of Ascot dressing and share some of our favourite pieces from the SKYLENCE collections to help you along the way. The rules get stricter based on the enclosure in which you will be seated so make sure you check your ticket before you choose your outfit.
The Royal Enclosure has the strictest dress code, which should come as no shock, and as a result you will be required to wear what is considered formal daywear. This is defined as:
- Dresses and skirts should be of modest length, falling just above the knee or longer
- Tops and dresses should have straps of one inch or greater
- Jackets and pashminas are permitted but must be worn over dresses and tops to comply with the dress code inside the Royal Enclosure
- Trouser suits are allowed but should be of full length and matching colour and material
- Hats should be worn; but a headpiece which has a base of 4 inches (10cm) or greater in diameter is an acceptable alternative
Before you make your choices it’s also worth noting what definitely isn’t allowed in the Royal Enclosure. This includes:
- Halter necks, strapless, off the shoulder and spaghetti straps are strictly not permitted
- Midriffs must be covered
- Fascinators and headpieces without a base of 4 inches (10cm) are not permitted
In the Queen Anne Enclosure Ladies are encouraged to dress for a formal occasion and should take note of the following:
- A hat, fascinator or headpiece should be worn at all times
- Strapless/sheer strap top or dresses are not permitted
- Trousers must be full length and comply with the above guidelines
- Midriffs should be covered
- Shorts are not permitted
And in the Windsor Enclosure there is actually no strict dress code. Instead Racegoers are encouraged to wear smart clothes.
So based on all of these Royal Ascot traditions, we have selected several dresses to make the choices easier for you and teamed them with jackets to compliment your style. We hope you like?
